Future Goals
After graduation, I plan to pursue a career in occupational therapy by continuing into a Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. My goal is to become a practicing occupational therapist in a clinical setting where I can work directly with patients to improve their independence, function, and overall quality of life. I am especially interested in working in rehabilitation settings, such as neurological or cardiovascular rehab, where I can apply both my clinical and research experience.
Long term, I hope to combine my clinical experience with my background in healthcare administration and research to contribute to improving patient care at a systems level. My experience at Krannert Cardiovascular Center strengthened my interest in evidence-based practice and showed me the importance of integrating research into clinical decision-making. Because of this, I would also be open to opportunities that involve clinical research, program development, or quality improvement within healthcare organizations.
While I may not yet know the exact position I will hold immediately after graduation, I am confident in my direction and committed to continuing to grow within the healthcare field. My overall goal is to become a well-rounded clinician who not only provides direct patient care but also contributes to improving healthcare systems and outcomes on a broader level.
Future Learning and Development

Learning is a lifelong process, and I plan to continue expanding my skills well beyond occupational therapy school. After completing my degree, I want to pursue advanced certifications in specialized areas of practice, including Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) training and pediatric-focused credentials such as the Certified Autism Specialist (CAS) or the Pediatric Certified Specialist (PCS). These areas align with my interests and will allow me to provide more targeted, evidence‑based care.
In addition to clinical growth, I want to leverage my background in health services management to move into leadership roles. My long‑term goal is to become a clinical manager, where I can support teams, improve service delivery, and help shape high‑quality patient care. Eventually, I hope to open my own outpatient clinic, combining my clinical expertise and management experience to create a practice that reflects my values and commitment to patient-centered care.
