Health Finance Balance Sheet
Completing a Balance Sheet
This artifact is my balance sheet assignment from PBHL-H352 Health Finance and Budgeting. This project focused on understanding and analyzing the financial position of a healthcare organization by examining its assets, liabilities, and overall equity.
I chose to include this assignment because it helped me develop a stronger understanding of financial statements and how they are used in healthcare decision-making. Creating and analyzing a balance sheet was a new skill for me, and it challenged me to think more critically about how organizations manage their resources. This artifact represents my ability to interpret financial data and apply it to real-world healthcare settings, which will be valuable in both clinical and administrative roles in the future
These same steps can be followed to embed other forms of media as well. If your artifact is a video or slide deck, upload it to ONEDRIVE or Google Drive and you can use the same steps. If you have another form, find a YouTube video or steps online on how best to add it. If all else fails, visit the ePortfolio Studio for technical help.
What I learned
I chose to include this assignment because it is one of the projects I am most proud of and reflects the effort I put into developing a new skill set. This was one of my first experiences working in depth with financial statements, and it challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and really understand how a balance sheet represents an organization’s financial health. I spent a significant amount of time learning how to properly organize assets and liabilities, interpret the data, and ensure accuracy throughout the process.
This assignment is meaningful to me because it strengthened my confidence in working with financial information, which is an essential skill in healthcare management. It also pushed me to think more critically about how financial decisions impact healthcare organizations and the populations they serve. Overall, this artifact showcases my growth, attention to detail, and ability to apply course concepts in a practical and meaningful way.
